Beauty Reviewer Golloria George Reveals Hailey Bieber Reached Out After Her Viral Rhode Blushes Review
Beauty reviewer Golloria George expressed her gratitude to Hailey Bieber for “listening” to her concerns after George’s initial review of Bieber’s beauty brand, Rhode, went viral. In a TikTok video, George revealed that Bieber, 27, personally reached out to her, took responsibility for the issues highlighted in the review, and made sure George was compensated for her feedback. George had noted that some of the blushes intended for darker skin appeared “ashy” on her complexion.
“She called me on the phone,” George commented. “She didn’t dismiss my experience, she listened and ensured I was compensated for shade consulting. Go go go Hailey.” After testing the newly reformulated Rhode blushes, George showed how much better the updated formula worked for her skin tone. “You see how beautifully flushed I am without looking ashy,” she said. “This is why you advocate for yourself and why not being complacent is important. That’s what we call redemption.”

George also commended Bieber on Instagram Stories, noting that “not only did she listen to Black women, but she also recognised the value of our time and energy.”
Rhode did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s inquiry about when the reformulated blush will be available in stores. Known for her honest beauty reviews on TikTok, George frequently advocates for more inclusive shades that cater to darker skin tones. In her original review of Rhode’s cream blushes George tested three shades she initially thought would be suitable for dark skin, only to find they appeared disappointingly “ashy” on her complexion.

George faced backlash for her initial critique and responded in a follow-up TikTok where she tested more colours and addressed the criticism. “People keep asking why the blush looks different on different people,” she explained. “I have a very different complexion than most, and not every product looks the same on dark skin because there are different tones of dark skin. What works for someone else may not work for you.” She also condemned the “hateful” and “violent” comments directed at dark-skinned girls, emphasizing the need to end colourism.
