Ben Affleck Controlled Documentary on Marriage to Jennifer Lopez
According to insiders, Ben Affleck played a major role in the creation of Jennifer Lopez’s documentary about their marriage. Sources tell PEOPLE that Affleck, 52, was deeply involved in the creative process for the Prime Video documentary, ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’, which debuted in February alongside Lopez’s project ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ and her new album.
One source revealed that Affleck had significant control over the project. “He was the driving force behind it,” the source said, noting that Affleck was enthusiastic about the documentary, album, and film, even though he appeared reluctant on camera—a portrayal that the source claims was misleading.

Another insider confirmed that the documentary was Affleck’s idea, initiated through his company, Artists Equity. While Lopez’s team was hesitant due to her focus on her album and other projects with Amazon, Affleck pushed for its creation. Despite reports suggesting Affleck was uncomfortable with the film’s exposure to their private lives, the source emphasised his deep involvement in the editing process.
“He supported Lopez fully in making the film and album,” the source explained, adding that Affleck was well aware of every step in the process. Despite seeming surprised in the documentary, Affleck was actively shaping the narrative, portraying himself as a regular guy while being the driving force behind the scenes.

The source also noted that the documentary, initially seen as humorous by audiences, has taken on new meaning in light of their recent split. Lopez filed for divorce recently, two years after their wedding, following a summer spent apart. While the couple had faced challenges, they were determined to make their relationship work. However, despite their deep love for each other, their marriage ended quickly, leaving many surprised by the turn of events.
