Beyoncé Alters ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Visuals Following Legal Notice Over Las Vegas Sphere Imagery

Beyoncé has reportedly modified a segment of her Cowboy Carter world tour visuals following a cease-and-desist order from the owners of the Las Vegas Sphere. The legal notice was sent shortly after the tour launched on April 28, with the Sphere Entertainment Group objecting to an interlude that featured a digital depiction of their venue.
During the original interlude, a towering version of Beyoncé — dressed in a red cowboy hat and matching leather cape — was shown walking through a stylized Las Vegas. In the scene, she approached the Sphere, picked it up, examined it, and then walked away holding it in her hand. The visual quickly drew attention online, with fans speculating it might hint at a possible future performance at the Sphere.

However, Billboard reports that the Sphere’s owners took issue with the use of the venue’s likeness, stating in their letter to Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment that the footage was used without permission and could mislead the public. They expressed concern that the scene might suggest an unconfirmed residency at the Sphere, and emphasized that no prior request to use the venue’s image had been made.
In response, Beyoncé’s team appears to have updated the visuals, replacing the Sphere with Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium — where she’s scheduled to perform on July 25 and 26. Sources told Billboard that Sphere Entertainment CEO James Dolan had previously attempted to arrange a performance at the venue, but the singer ultimately chose Allegiant Stadium instead.
The Cowboy Carter tour began at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with Beyoncé delivering a 36-song set that ran close to three hours. The show celebrates her March 2024 album of the same name and has included standout moments such as an onstage appearance by her daughter Rumi and the unexpected inclusion of a Death Grips interlude.
