Beyoncé created history by becoming the top Grammy Awards winner of all time at the 65th annual Grammy Awards. She won four awards at the event this year. Now she has a total of 32 Grammy Awards, breaking Sir Georg Solti’s record of 31 Grammy awards. She won Best Dance/Electronic Recording for ‘Break My Soul’, Best Traditional R&B Performance for ‘Plastic Off The Sofa’, Best R&B Song for ‘Cuff It’ and Best Dance/Electronic Album for ‘Renaissance.’ Apart from this, she was nominated in three more categories including album, record and song of the year.
Nonetheless, she has broken many records over the years. In 2010, she became the first female artist to win a total of six Grammys in a single night. A decade later, she surpassed Alison Krauss and became the woman with the most career Grammy wins. Her first two Grammy awards were with her band, Destiny’s Child for ‘Say My Name’.
Solti won 31 awards over the span of his career, where he received some awards posthumously. Now that Beyoncé has taken over his title, he remains the person born outside the U.S. with the most Grammys ever. He was born in Hungary, and received a trustees award in 1967 and a lifetime achievement award in 1996.
