Beyoncé’s Publicist Denies Rumours of a 20-Minute NFL Christmas Halftime Performance

Beyoncé’s upcoming NFL Halftime performance on Christmas Day will follow the standard runtime for such sets, according to official confirmation. Last month, Netflix and the NFL announced that Beyoncé would headline the Halftime Show during the Christmas Day game. Earlier this week, reports surfaced on social media platforms, including Beyoncé fan pages on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that the performance might exceed the typical 15-minute duration.

The speculation originated from a TMZ Sports report shared by fan accounts, which claimed that Beyoncé’s performance time was being extended. According to the post, halftime for an NFL game usually lasts 12-15 minutes, but sources reportedly stated that this would be extended when Beyoncé takes the stage during the Houston Texans’ matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on December 25. This led many fans to anticipate a 20-minute set.

However, Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, has since dismissed these claims. Responding to a fan page on X, she stated that the reports were untrue and clarified that Beyoncé’s performance would not last 20 minutes.

While specific details about Beyoncé’s set remain under wraps, Netflix previously announced in November that the show would feature live performances of songs from her recent album Cowboy Carter. Released earlier this year, the album marked a shift to a country-inspired sound.

Beyoncé recently concluded her Renaissance world tour in 2023, which spanned 39 cities across 17 countries from May to October. The tour, celebrating her Renaissance album, earned a reported $579 million (£455.7 million), making it one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.

This upcoming performance will not be Beyoncé’s first experience with the NFL stage. She previously performed at two Super Bowl Halftime Shows. In 2013, she reunited with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, while her 2016 appearance featured a collaboration with Coldplay and Bruno Mars.
