Teen superstar Billie Eilish took to the Oscars stage to perform an eerily beautiful rendition of the Beatles’ hit song “Yesterday”.

The singer was announced as a performer in early days leading up to the award show, with everyone hoping for a premiere of the new Bond song she and her brother Finneas have been trusted with this time around.

Eilish took the stage with her permanent accompanist and co-writer, her brother Finneas. The two performed in remembrance of all of Hollywood’s lives lost – the in memoriam program. The weight of the moment could be felt through the screen and the crowd. The loss of ace basketballer Kobe Bryant in particular struck a chord, considering how recent the incident was.
