Billy Joel Goes Viral for Impromptu Piano Performance

American singer-songwriter and music icon, Billy Joel, has surfaced on the Internet with a viral video. A recent clip of Joel playing a discarded piano has made its way to social media, and we are better off for it.

Late last month, a group of people captured a encounter between Billy Joel and a nearly abandoned piano. As if written by the Entertainment Gods, the script of this moment is as wholesome as it gets.

As you see in the video, Joel stumbles upon a piano on the sidewalk of a Huntington, Long Island street and begins to play it. After a few impromptu riffs, the singer turns to the group of people filming him to express his dismay at the piano being abandoned.

Emphatically, Joel says: "Not bad! The action is good; just needs tuning." With a hint of sadness in his voice he continues, "It's a perfectly good piano. It's a shame to throw it out. Should at least donate it to St. Vincent De Paul or something."  

The video, taken late last month and uploaded a while later has been making rounds on social media. If you're looking for you fix of positivity in these surreal times, this may be it.
