‘The Girls,’ a brand-new song by BLACKPINK, will be included in the soundtrack for ‘BLACKPINK The Game’, a mobile game that was launched in May.
In response to the lengthy wait for the track’s release, the ‘BLACKPINK The Game’ team issued a new statement on 4th July stating that the music video for the song will be released within the month.
“Our deep desire to present the highest quality of content flawlessly took longer than expected, and therefore our initial plan to release the MV simultaneously with the game release was delayed significantly,” it said.
In the meantime, an earlier teaser shows animated versions of BLACKPINK from the game dancing to a snippet of the song. “Don’t mess with the girls, with the girls, with the girls,” they sing in the teaser, which ends with the words “coming soon”.
‘BLACKPINK The Game’ is developed by Takeone Company and has a management gameplay component in addition to puzzles, mini-games and other exclusive content.
“Players will witness the never-seen-before sides of Blackpink in a variety of ways. We hope all fans around the world will be able to enjoy the game,” BLACKPINK’s label, YG Entertainment said in a press release, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
In other BLACKPINK news, Lisa and Taeyang of Big Bang recently worked together on the song ‘Shoong!’ from his most recent mini-album, ‘Down to Earth’.
Jennie has reportedly hinted at a forthcoming project with The Weeknd. The K-pop star played what was referred to as a “special song” during the premiere event for her new Calvin Klein capsule collection.
Additionally, BLACKPINK recently made an appearance on one of the last episodes of Carpool Karaoke on the now-defunct The Late Late Show with James Corden. The K-pop girl group sang top tunes by TLC, the Spice Girls and other artists.
