The four newly announced artists join a line-up of performers for the 2022 VMAs that also include Panic! at the Disco, Khalid, Marshmello, J Balvin, Anitta and Nicki Minaj, who will receive the Video Vanguard Award.

In order to play at this year’s VMAs, both Harlow and Måneskin cancelled their scheduled appearances at the Reading & Leeds Festival. The event’s organisers said they were disheartened that both artists decided to play at an award show the same weekend they were confirmed to play Reading & Leeds, in a statement released on 15th August.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Minaj would join prior winners Madonna, Janet Jackson, LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez and Missy Elliott in receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during this year’s event.
