BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez Drop A Funky Snippet of ‘Ice Cream’

BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez have left us waiting with bated breath for their highly-anticipated track, ‘Ice Cream’. Over the past few weeks, they’ve sprinkled teasers of their upcoming collaboration. And their latest offering has been a charming little teaser and a bundle of sparkly photoshoots.

The individual teasers feature all four members of BLACKPINK, rocking vintage outfits, all glistening with vibrant colour palettes. The girls are seen standing against a candy-coloured backdrop, with the songs title splattered at the corner. It’s worth mentioning that Jennie’s sporting a brand new cotton candy-like hairdo. Rose’s seen in a flaming orange plaid outfit, while Lisa takes the spotlight in a fluffy, knitted top. Last but not least, it looks like Jisoo’s captured all the colours of the rainbow in her funky top.

The teaser featuring Selena Gomez is just as exciting, we see the young star in a candy-striped outfit. She’s paired this look with gold, dangling hoops, white gloves and a sailor hat. Gauging from their retro-inspired looks, perhaps ‘Ice Cream’ will be swallowed by the disco wave currently taking over the pop music scene.

BLACKPINK also put out a fun little teaser for the track. We see all four members pop up behind cut-outs of ice cream, while Selena drives by in a candy-coloured truck. We don’t get a real feel of the song apart from a groovy cocktail of beats. So, it looks like both acts have decided to leave us on the very edge right until the last moment.

In the lead-up to the single, the girls also shared a brief clip of their conversation with Gomez over a video call. Selena is heard saying, “I’m so stoked, I’ve been a fan of you guys, so this is a  big, big dream for me.” Her comments were received with a lot of cooing on their end, leaving us yearning for more interactions between both acts.

‘Ice Cream’ will find its space on BLACKPINK’s long-awaited debut album, “Blackpink: The Album”. The tune is set to make its landing tomorrow, August 28.
