Since their October 2nd release of ‘BLACKPINK: The Album’ the hit Kpop group have welcomed several victories. And the latest addition to their steadily growing list is the domination of Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart.
This chart ranks the most popular tracks globally and is based on sales and streaming data from more than 200 territories. Now, BLACKPINK just scored the No. 1 spot on this very chart with their lead single, ‘Lovesick Girls’. The buzzing track managed to rake in a whopping 114 million streams.
But this isn’t the only victory the girls have been witness to. ‘Lovesick Girls’ also occupied the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Global 200 chart.
Further, it looks like BLACKPINK has crossed yet another milestone on YouTube. The music video for their debut hit, ‘BOOMBAYAH’ just surpassed 1 billion views. Boasting of a vibrant colour palette, quirky sets and a fiery dance routine, it’s no surprise that this visualizer has managed to rake in such mind-boggling figures.
So, ‘BOOMBAYAH’ marks BLACKPINK’s third music video to reach 1 billion views following ‘DDU-DU DD-DU‘ and ‘Kill This Love.’ By achieving this feat, they claim another spot on YouTube’s One Billion Club. To add to that, ‘BOOMBAYAH’ is the only K-pop debut music video with over 1 billion views.
So, as BLACKPINK continue to dominate the music scene, there’s no telling what record they’ll break next.
