BLACKPINK’s Back to Bagging Records: Catch Up

BLACKPINK are on a record-breaking high

Mega group, BLACKPINK, are back to bagging records as their latest single, ‘How You Like That’, sets major sales records. 

It has been announced that the quartet have officially landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart, making this their highest ranking on the chart. With this score, BLACKPINK beats their personal best – No. 10 achieved with the Lady Gaga collaboration, ‘Sour Candy’. The “Chromatica” feature also earned them the record for highest charting Korean girl group in Billboard Hot 100 history. 

Scoring No. 2 with ‘How You Like That‘, has also made them the highest charting Korean girl group on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart. The record-breaking continues as new reports speaking of views on YouTube rocks the music world today.

According to recent numbers, BLACKPINK’s music video for the 2016 track, ‘Boombayah’, has officially hit 900 million views. This record makes them the only Korean act, and the only group in history to have achieved 900 million views on three separate music videos. 

BLACKPINK’s ‘Boombayah‘ joins the league of their previous releases, ‘Kill This Love’ and ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du’, of which the latter has crossed 1 billion views. ‘Boombayah’, which was their debut single, also joins One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ as the only debut single of a group to have surpassed 900 million views. 

In a musical age of digital streaming numbers and sales figures, BLACKPINK seems to be making and breaking all the right records.
