BLACKPINK’s Jennie Teases New Music With “Pretty Girl Mantra” Teaser
BLACKPINK’s Jennie has unveiled a new teaser that appears to hint at her upcoming solo music. On 29th September, Jennie shared the short clip on social media with the caption “Presenting… 🍵”. The video introduces what the narrator refers to as the “pretty girl mantra,” which consists of six rules: pretty girls are driven, practice self-love, love animals, get enough sleep, indulge in self-care, and steer clear of drama. Jennie features in the teaser, acting out each of the mantra’s rules as they are recited by the narrator.
A day after releasing the “pretty girl mantra” teaser on 30th September, Jennie shared two new photos showcasing her leg and waist, each featuring the word “mantra” tattooed in cursive.
The “pretty girl mantra” video is the most recent in a series of teasers Jennie has shared over the past few days. It began on 27th September with two photos of her standing in an outdoor parking lot. On the same day, she also uploaded a mysterious vertical video of herself at the same location, captioned “☎️ PRE-TTY-GIRL.”
On 28th September, Odd Atelier followed up by sharing a brief clip of herself tearing off a slip with a phone number from a bulletin ad that read, “Calling all pretty girls.” The video was captioned, “Picked up the phone.”
The teasers follow Jennie’s recent signing with Columbia Records, where it was revealed that the K-pop star is set to release new solo music in October. This upcoming, yet-untitled project will be Jennie’s first solo release since dropping ‘You & Me’ in October 2023.
Earlier this year, Jennie teamed up with Brockhampton’s Matt Champion for ‘Slow Motion’ in March and collaborated with Zico on ‘SPOT!’ in April. She also gave fans a sneak peek of an unreleased track on TikTok in June as part of her Beats by Dre campaign.
