A straightforward favor director In the midst of Blake Lively’s protracted legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director of ‘It Ends With Us’, Paul Feig is supporting her.
The sequel to ‘A Simple Favor’, titled ‘Another Simple Favor’, will make its global premiere at the festival in Austin, Texas, in March, according to an announcement from South by Southwest (SXSW). One Instagram user questioned if the movie was Feig’s original work or one that was influenced by Lively once the news surfaced.
The 62-year-old Feig swiftly stressed that Lively has been nothing but helpful and that the film is totally his creation, describing her as an amazing partner and expressing his appreciation for her.
Speculation centered on two distinct cuts of ‘It Ends With Us’, one supervised by Baldoni and the other purportedly inspired by Lively. The dispute intensified after Baldoni sued The New York Times for its coverage of Lively’s complaint, in which she accused him and his associates of sexual harassment and launching a campaign of retaliatory smears.

Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane, and Sloane’s PR agency after Lively formally filed her complaint against Baldoni and the film’s producers. In March 2026, both cases are scheduled to go to trial.
Feig has been outspoken in his defence of Lively during the court case. On social media in December, he denounced what he saw as an unfair smear campaign while applauding her professionalism and talent. Additionally, he denied reports that ‘Another Simple Favor’ was being postponed, telling viewers that the movie was finished and would be released on schedule.
Lively, Anna Kendrick and Henry Golding return in ‘Another Simple Favor’, which takes place in Capri, Italy, where Emily’s wedding is the scene of a murder. Beginning on 1st May, the follow-up will be accessible via Prime Video.
