‘Bridgerton’ Announces Yerin Ha as Benedict's Love Interest for Season 4 as Rehearsals Kick Off

Sophie has officially entered the world of ‘Bridgerton’! The hit Netflix series introduced actress Yerin Ha as Sophie, the love interest for season 4, which will centre around Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.

In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), Ha, 29, appears elegant as she browses through a selection of gowns, eventually picking up a pair of silk gloves, hinting at what's to come in the new season. The teaser concludes with Ha smiling at the camera, giving fans their first glimpse of Sophie. The post’s caption suggested production for season 4 is on the horizon, stating, "Preparations for the next social season are almost underway."

"We request a warm welcome to the newest member of the Ton... Presenting Yerin Ha as Sophie in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4!" the announcement read. Ha, whose role was confirmed in August, expressed her excitement in an interview with Netflix's Tudum, noting that she was drawn to Sophie because of the character's challenges, such as navigating social class issues and her feelings for Benedict.

Rehearsals for season 4 have already begun, and Thompson humorously shared that he's "only stepped on Yerin's toes once" during their dance practices. The pair's characters are set to meet at a masquerade ball hosted by Violet Bridgerton, where Sophie, in disguise, sneaks into high society.

Sophie’s storyline has also been adapted to reflect Ha’s heritage, with her last name changed from Beckett to Baek in honour of her Korean roots. Ha said this change made her feel the role was more personally tailored to her, adding, "It's empowering."
