Britney Spears And Elton John Release ‘Hold Me Closer’ Video, Detail CD Editions

The music video for Elton John and Britney Spears’ most recent joint track, ‘Hold Me Closer’ has been released and three CD single releases have also been announced.

The video, which was filmed in Mexico City, makes the most of the brilliant aesthetic of the city by prominently showcasing buildings that are painted in vivid primary colours. It features numerous dancer pairs performing original choreography, all of which end with the dancers colliding or embracing one another in different ways. Tanu Muino, an award-winning director who has previously worked on music videos for Lil Nas X, Harry Styles, Cardi B, Yungblud, Lizzo and others, directed this one.

The song ‘Hold Me Closer,’ a combination of John’s former songs ‘Tiny Dancer,’ ‘The One’ and ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,’ was first made available a month ago. It was Spears’ first new song in six years and it was also her first single since she was released from a 13-year conservatorship last year.

The pairing was officially announced in August after several rumours surfaced that they were “secretly recording” a new version of John’s 1972 single ‘Tiny Dancer’. John shocked customers in a Cannes restaurant by having the venue’s DJs play the song as he sang over it, days before it was formally released.
