Britney Spears Files A Legal Motion Against Her Father

On November 3, 2020, Britney Spears and her legal team have asked a court to remove her father as co-conservator of her estate. Following the filing of the case, a date for the hearing has been set for No. 10. The court hearing will determine whether Spears’ request will be granted.

Further Details:

Britney’s team has stated to the court that they wish to have James Spears removed. He currently has the designation of a co-conservator of the Britney Spears estate. If the request goes through it will be put into effect almost immediately.

The lead attorney on Britney Spears’ legal team, Samuel Ingham was the one who filed the papers. He has said that if Britney’s father can hold on to his position it will cause “Britney to suffer loss and injury.”

Britney Spears hopes to have her father removed from his position as soon as her new conservator, Bessemer Trust, is appointed.

Reasons Behind The Legal Action:

The downward spiral began following a letter that she received from her father’s lawyer on Oct. 28. The letter stated that her longtime business manager, Lou Taylor, and her father allegedly hired Britney a new business manager, Michael Kane of Miller Kaplan. Additionally, all these actions had been taken by James Spears without Britney’s consent or knowledge.

Following this, Britney Spears’ attorney filed a motion in a California court. Furthermore, the ‘Toxic’ singer had not been told anything about the new terms that had been negotiated with her new business managers. The pop star did not receive any other information on these events.

Britney Spears’ lawyer Samuel Ingham has commented on the letter as a “blatant attempt by James to try to retain full functional control of her assets, books, and records in the face of Britney’s objections, TriStar’s resignation, and the appointment of Bessemer Trust.”

The court hearing is set for Nov. 10 at 1:30 p.m. Just wishing for her happiness and justice being served in the “Criminal” singer’s case. We shall keep you up to date.
