The night featured Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, joining the band on stage for a rendition of ‘Tougher Than The Rest’. Earlier this month, Scialfa shared that she has been battling multiple myeloma, a rare type of blood cancer that has hindered her ability to tour with the E Street Band.
In addition, Springsteen made a surprise appearance at The Ocean Ave. Stomp featuring the Tangiers Blues Band on 14th September at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. During the show, he performed several covers, including Little Richard’s ‘Lucille,’ John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom Boom,’ Them’s ‘Gloria’ and Chuck Berry’s ‘Down the Road a Piece.’
Meanwhile, the ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ hitmaker reflected on his extensive career ahead of the release of his documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, which premiered at Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival on 8th September, with Springsteen in attendance.
