BTS Score Third No. 1 Claim On The Hot 100 Chart

With every passing week, BTS have been making the headlines for a number of reasons. Last week saw them notch their very first Grammy nomination for their all-English track, ‘Dynamite’. And now, the septet have earned yet another victory as ‘Life Goes On’ blasts onto the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

This marks the band’s third claim of that special, coveted spot. Previously, their remixed version of ‘Savage Love’ featuring Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685 were welcomed onto the throne. And of course, their first No. 1 claim came with ‘Dynamite’ which went on to reign supreme in the Top 10 for a good few weeks.

But unlike ‘Dynamite‘ BTS have predominantly sung in Korean for ‘Life Goes On’. Further, it’s also a much slower song, that builds as it goes. Boasting of pretty melodies and simple chords, there’s a quiet charm to this title track. So, as it bows at the summit, it also marks the the first Hot 100 No. 1 in the chart’s 62-year history sung predominantly in Korean.

What makes this feat even more awe-inspiring is the fact that over the course of 3 months,  BTS scores the fastest accumulation of three Hot 100 No. 1s in over 42 years. Adding to this, BTS is the first duo or group with two No. 1 Hot 100 debuts, as ‘Life Goes On’ follows ‘Dynamite’ in having premiered at the summit.

And so, it looks like the boys have inked in yet another page in the history books!
