BTS’ V Delivers His Own Rendition of Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ Featuring the Late Singer

BTS' V has released a fresh take on the holiday classic ‘White Christmas’ in collaboration with Bing Crosby's estate. The updated rendition of the 1942 classic was unveiled on December 6, accompanied by an animated music video shared on Crosby’s official YouTube channel. The visual depicts Crosby dressed as Santa Claus, with a special appearance from V’s late pet dog, Yeontan.

In a press statement, V expressed gratitude for the opportunity to feature on a song with Bing Crosby, whom he described as his all-time favourite jazz artist. He recalled growing up listening to Crosby's ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ repeatedly and shared how honoured he felt to perform alongside Crosby’s voice on ‘White Christmas.’ V noted that as a devoted fan, he approached the song with great sincerity and admiration, hoping listeners would enjoy it as much as he enjoyed recording it. He also wished everyone a joyful holiday season.

Crosby’s children, Mary and Harry Crosby, also commented on the collaboration. They expressed excitement about hearing V and their father sing together, describing it as a perfect blend of voices that captured the festive spirit beautifully.

The new rendition of ‘White Christmas’ marks Bing Crosby’s first cross-generational collaboration in 47 years, following his iconic duet with David Bowie in 1977. This release follows V’s previous cover of another holiday classic, ‘It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas,’ originally recorded by Crosby in 1951 and recently shared on Crosby’s social media platforms.

V has also earned recognition on Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped report, featuring prominently in the Top 10 most-streamed K-pop songs and artists. His solo track ‘Love Me Again’ ranked as the fourth most-streamed K-pop song of the year, while ‘FRI(END)S’ secured the Number Seven spot.

On the artist charts, V placed seventh among the most-streamed K-pop acts, joining fellow BTS members Jungkook and Jimin, as well as their group BTS, who were also featured prominently on both lists.
