Cardi and Megan Give Away $1 Million to Help Women

Cardi and Megan give away $1 million dollars

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion started this week with a bang. The rappers debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, with ‘WAP’ raking in the biggest streaming numbers in opening-week history. They clocked in 93 million streams in a week of release, and made history as the only female hip-hop duo to debut at No. 1 in the chart’s history.

And, now, they’re taking all that success and turning it into something meaningful. Cardi and Megan took to social media to announce that they would be teaming up with Twitter and the Cash app to give away a total of $1 million dollars to women who need the money. According to the rules, 200 women will be chosen at random. Further, they will each be handed $500 dollars.

Cardi first tweeted, saying: “Y’all made #WAP amazing!! we’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to give away a total of $1 million dollars to celebrate all you powerful women out there.” In addition, she wrote “Tell us why you or a woman you know can use a piece of the $.”

Megan followed suit, tweeting: “To all everyone supporting #WAP we see you!! We’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to celebrate all the powerful women out there by giving away a total of  $1 million dollars.”

And, while the comment sections were flooded, Cardi and Megan put out rules that will be followed in order to streamline the selection process.

‘WAP’ has seen an unprecedented reaction ever since its release. The track kicked up quite the storm, causing discussion amongst the conservatives and celebration amongst fans. But, one thing is for sure: these female powerhouses are doing things their way this time.
