Cardi B Fires Back at Elon Musk Over ‘Puppet’ Remark
This weekend, when Cardi B reacted angrily to Elon Musk’s comments about her, the political debate heated up. After Musk called her a “puppet” in a post on X (previously Twitter), the Grammy-winning rapper retaliated. He posted a video of Cardi B endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential candidacy during her attendance at a rally for Harris in Milwaukee in November.
“Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” Musk said, criticizing her for lacking sincerity and only speaking when asked. There is no genuine empathy or genuineness in the Kamala campaign. Cardi B quickly retaliated, claiming her autonomy and contesting Musk’s comprehension of the hardships that many Americans endure. She wrote, “I’m not a puppet, Elon,” outlining her upbringing as the daughter of immigrants who toiled diligently to support her.

She emphasized how her life represents the difficulties presented by a system that frequently works against people like her by highlighting her experiences with welfare, Section 8 housing, and poverty. “You don’t know nothing about that,” she said, reminding Musk of his privilege. You have no knowledge whatsoever of the American struggle.
Cardi B joked, “PS fix my algorithm,” in her trademark frank manner, referencing the annoyances that many social media users have with content visibility. Cardi B gave a heartfelt address at the Democratic gathering in which she fervently supported Harris and discussed her own connection to the vice president’s path.

She said that women must put forth more effort and yet deal with criticism of their accomplishments, relating to Harris as an underdog who experienced undervaluation. Cardi was first apprehensive about endorsing any politician, but she found that Harris’s vision for the nation struck a chord with her, giving her hope for the future under her leadership.
