Chappell Roan Reveals her Spotify Wrapped, Naming Heart’s ‘Barracuda’ as Her Top Track

Chappell Roan shared her Spotify Wrapped results, revealing Heart’s 1977 hit Barracuda as her most-played track of the year. In an Instagram post on December 4, she included a photo of her younger self posing next to a car decorated with a camouflage decal and a mounted bull’s horns. She described the image as “kind of insane” in the caption.

She also unveiled her top five artists for the year, as calculated by Spotify Wrapped. The feature, a yearly favourite among music enthusiasts, summarizes users’ listening trends over the past 12 months. For Roan, who had a significant 2024, her top five artists were Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, Heart, Justice, and Kacey Musgraves. She noted that her most-streamed song was Barracuda, a track she had also performed during her recent U.S. tour in October.

Music critic Nick Levine commented on Roan’s success, describing Good Luck, Babe! as a "career-making hit." Released in April, the single brought widespread recognition to her debut album. Levine noted that the song, a blend of subtly insistent synth-pop and introspective lyrics, showcased Roan’s unique ability to express profound ideas in a way few others have. He added that the world was hers for the taking if she desired it.

In a related development, Flavor Flav expressed support for Roan after initially criticizing her over claims of rudeness toward fans. He clarified on Twitter that he had been misinformed about her actions and emphasized that, while fans are essential to an artist’s success, it was commendable for Roan to address any behaviour that threatened her privacy or boundaries.
