Chappell Roan expressed her admiration for Miley Cyrus, highlighting her ability to constantly reinvent herself while staying true to her artistry. She noted that unlike some artists, Cyrus’s transformations feel authentic because she’s transparent about them, both personally and creatively. Roan recalled her first-ever concert, the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana tour with the Jonas Brothers, which left a lasting impression on her and sparked her desire to achieve similar success. She also mentioned the parallels between her own work and Miley’s, emphasizing her deep appreciation for the pop icon.

Chappell Roan’s debut studio album, ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’, released last September, recently achieved its first UK Number One, nearly a year after its debut. Her rapid ascent to fame caught the attention of Elton John, who congratulated her on the milestone.

Over the past few months, Roan’s popularity has soared, propelling her album up three spots to the top of the Official UK Albums Chart, surpassing notable artists like Charli XCX, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.

Despite her success, Roan has also been candid about the challenges of her meteoric rise. On a recent episode of the ‘Comment Section’ podcast with Drew Afualo, she discussed feeling the need to slow down after experiencing unsettling fan behaviour. She shared concerns about her safety and that of her family, leading her to step back from activities that could further increase her fame, describing the situation as a “forest fire” she’s not eager to fuel.
