Charlie XCX’s Self Isolation Brings a Dark Message

Charli XCX has been making the most of her time alone in self quarantine. With the spread of the pandemic, many have started to self isolate and maintain social distancing to combat its spread. Many celebrities have been urging the public to practice self isolation , through their social media platforms. Lady Gaga said “it’s the kindest thing to do for your fellow human beings”.

Charli XCX decided to maintain a self isolation diary where she penned down her thoughts about various things like the future of the music industry etc. Recently she announced in her diary entry that she is almost done with her new album. Fans were thrilled to read the announcement that also spilled tea about who will be featured on the album as well.

The artist said that there are lesser collabs this time but the album will feature songs about relevant issues of the world. She has even got a song about the world ending! Getting a lil dark there..

Her latest entry on Twitter started off with “So I’ve been thinking about how to be creative in quarantine, A few of my frequent collaborators are currently experiencing symptoms of the virus and we’ve canceled a lot of our session plans for this week in order to give them to rest and to prevent the virus from spreading further.”

“This self-quarantine is coming at a time where I was almostttttt finished with the writing process of my next album, I had one song left to write and then it was all about finishing and production and artwork etc. obviously things have slowed now but I do feel excited to wrap this up and be releasing new music soon, of course only when it’s ready.”

Her last album was released in 2019 featuring collaborations with Lizzo , Troy Sivan and Haim. The album was centered around the theme of anxiety , isolation and more which was accepted by fans graciously.

Charlie’s diary entry is tweeted out everyday which has built a trusting relationship with her fans , who have also started a similar chain of thinking out loud diaries that help keep anxiety at bay. On her first day of self isolation , she talks about feeling purposeless due to cancelled plans and activities. She also opens up about her perspective on the lockdown, which honestly broke our hearts. As so many things get canceled and a lot of things come to a halt around me, I start wondering – what if this change is permanent – or at least semi-permanent.” she says in her post
