Check Out All The Winners from The BRIT Awards 2022
Adele dominated the BRIT Awards 2022 on 8th February in London, winning three awards. For the first time, Mo Gilligan hosted the event, and the show did not award prizes in gendered categories. Artist Of The Year and International Artist Of The Year fields have taken their place.
Fans could vote for four new genre categories, including Alternative/Rock Act, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act, Dance Act, and Pop/R’N’B Act, via TikTok. The number of female nominees in this year’s BRIT Awards is the most in over a decade. There were 18 female musicians or all-women groups nominated across the 13 categories, just a few short of the 22 female acts nominated in 2010.
With four nominations each, Adele, Sheeran, Little Simz, and Dave lead the nominations coming into the night. All of the aforementioned performers, as well as Sam Fender, were nominated for Artist Of The Year, with Adele taking home the prize. She also won the Album of the Year and Song of the Year awards.
Fender, Sheeran, Liam Gallagher, Adele, Dave, Holly Humberstone, and Little Simz were among the performers at the ceremony. Doja Cat was also scheduled to perform, but she had to cancel because members of her crew tested positive for COVID-19.
