Check Out PJ Harvey’s Rendition of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’

PJ Harvey and Tim Phillips have teamed up for a cover of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

The duo previously collaborated on covers of the traditional folk song Run On and Leonard Cohen’s Who By Fire for the 2022 soundtrack of Bad Sisters Season 1. Now, for the newly released Season 2, they’ve delivered an atmospheric take on the Joy Division classic.

In a statement to Stereogum, PJ Harvey shared that their version of Love Will Tear Us Apart reflects both their deep passion for the original song and the essence of the new series’ narrative.

This cover follows Harvey’s recent release of the first track from the London Tide soundtrack, which she debuted exclusively with NME in September. The full soundtrack became available for streaming in October.

Harvey has also announced a series of headline shows in Australia and Japan for 2025, supporting her 10th studio album, I Inside the Old Year Dying.
