Check Out The MTV VMAs 2022 Winners!
At the MTV VMAs 2022, Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles dominated the nominees with multiple awards. This year’s ceremony which was held in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was co-hosted by Harlow, Nicki Minaj and LL Cool J. With seven nominations each going into the ceremony, Harlow, Lil Nas X and Kendrick Lamar had the most. Styles and Doja Cat all received six nominations, while Swift received five.
At the end of the ceremony, Harlow had won four awards: Song Of The Summer for his song ‘First Class,’ Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects for his collaboration with Lil Nas X, ‘Industry Baby.’ These latter prizes made up Lil Nas X’s entire winnings for the evening as well.
Swift also received three prizes for her song ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),’ which she won for Best Longform Video, Best Directio, and Video of the Year. She made the announcement that she will release a ‘whole new album’ in October during the speech for the award.
For his work on ‘Harry’s House,’ Styles also took home three prizes, along with ‘Best Pop’ and ‘Best Cinematography’ for ‘As It Was.’ Red Hot Chili Peppers was awarded Global Icons and Nicki Minaj received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Both artists gave performances at the event, which also featured a metaverse-inspired performance by Eminem and Snoop Dogg, BLACKPINK’s first VMAs participation, Harlow and Fergie’s collaboration and other acts.
