Cheryl Attends Ex Liam Payne’s Funeral After Emotional Plea for Their 7-Year-Old Son

Cheryl paid her respects at her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne’s funeral on 20th November, 2024. Cheryl was joined by her ‘Girls Aloud’ bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts during the service, which took place in England. Following Payne’s parents, Karen and Geoff Payne, she was seen departing the funeral.

Along with pals like James Corden and Payne’s fiancée, Kate Cassidy, other guests included Payne’s former ‘One Direction’ teammates, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson. Payne, 31, sadly died in October after falling from a Buenos Aires, Argentina, hotel balcony.

Cheryl posted a touching letter on Instagram just two days after his passing, asking people to respect their privacy while they grieved. She reminded everyone that Liam was more than just a music artist; he was also their 7-year-old son Bear’s father, brother, friend, and son. Cheryl voiced her grave worries about the situation’s abuse by the media and the possible long-term harm it would do to Bear. She begged for greater tact and consideration when covering the terrible incident.

Liam was a contestant and Cheryl was a judge on ‘The X Factor’ when they first met in 2008. They started dating in 2016, had a kid the following year, and separated in 2018, although they remained friendly co-parents. In 2022, Liam had talked favorably of their relationship, praising Cheryl and their encouraging friendship following their split.

Payne sustained multiple injuries from the fall, according to a preliminary autopsy report, and officials speculated that he might have been unconscious when the incident occurred.
