Chris Hemsworth & Mark Ruffalo's New Heist Thriller Casts 'Walking Dead' Star

With roles in big-budget films like ‘Transformers One’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, Chris Hemsworth is having a busy year. Now, he has a big new cast member for his upcoming heist thriller ‘Crime 101’. With roles in ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and as Heath on ‘The Walking Dead’, Corey Hawkins, a former cast member of ‘The Walking Dead’, has joined the film's star-studded cast. 

Hemsworth and Marvel co-star Mark Ruffalo lead the ensemble cast, with Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, and Monica Barbaro from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ rounding out the group. The particular role that each actor is playing is being kept a secret.

Based on Don Winslow's novella, Bart Layton directed and adapted ‘Crime 101’, which centers on a theft along California's Pacific Coast Highway. Corey Hawkins, who played Kwame Ture in Spike Lee's ‘BlacKkKlansman’ and Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton, has a varied acting background that includes recent roles in ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ starring Denzel Washington and ‘The Last Voyage’ of the Demeter. In the 2021 musical ‘In the Heights’, he costarred with Melissa Barrera and Anthony Ramos.

While Ruffalo costarred with Emma Stone in ‘Poor Things’ and made an appearance in 

‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ on Disney+, Hemsworth has also directed ‘Extraction 2’ and returned to his role as Thor in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

Berry and Keoghan, two other cast members, have also maintained their hectic schedules with films like ‘Never Let Go’ and ‘Saltburn’, respectively. Recently, Monica Barbaro costarred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film ‘FUBAR’. More information is anticipated as production moves forward, even though ‘Crime 101’ does not yet have an official release date.
