Chris Martin is a One of a Kind Hero

British singer of Coldplay fame, Chris Martin has fallen right back into his wholesome self amid the COVID self-quarantine movement, and we are better for it.

Martin went live on Facebook yesterday from his private residence, explaining that he was supposed to be with his Coldplay band members but due to self isolation, they’re “stuck in different countries”. Going live to keep his fans and followers company, the singer began explaining what the live was going to be all about.

He began the video adorably, asking whether the live was on at all. He went on to assure us all a little more, saying “I thought it would be nice to check in with some of you out there and see how you’re doing, and where you are and what I can do for you.” Yes, cue the heart eyes.

Before he launched off to do what he does best – sing, he explained that this was an attempt at a new idea, something he called “Together at Home”. Being joined by the likes of John Legend, and with comments from millions, the live 30 something minutes of interaction with fans, music and live, stripped down vocals from Chris himself.

Among the songs he sang were “Hymn for the Weekend” and “Sky Full of Stars”. About the COVID-19 pandemic, the singer candidly said, “It’s strange, no one is really going anywhere. My kids seem okay, and one or two people we know have been sick. And um, I feel like the right thing to be doing is staying quiet and staying at home,” before cheekily adding – “and not buying too much toilet paper” to the list.

The session sparked off a series of live concerts from John Legend, Diplo and Pink, and we can’t wait for #TogetherAtHome to occupy our days!
