Coldplay Is Back With A Bonus Track: ‘Flags’

The British bombshells and boy-band Coldplay just announced something exciting that is bound to thrill their fans. With an unexpected release of a Japanese bonus track ‘Flags’ from their album “Everyday Life”, the band has come through with a reason for their fans to celebrate.

The Announcement!

They took to their official Twitter account on Dec. 21st, 2020 to make the announcement.

The track that has a dreamy and introspective vibe to it talks about living up to your potential. The opening verse’s lyrics ensure the vibe check. It goes, “Talked amongst skeletons this morning/ Aside from all the medicine and health/ If you could do it all again, would you do it all the same?/ Is there something that you’d tell your former self?/ There were those that wished they’d spun upon a jukebox/ There were pirates who had never seen the sea/ But the one recurring theme, the one recurring dream they had/ Was to be whatever they wanted to be.”

As Chris Martin sings, “To be Pyotr Tchaikovsky/ To be free like everyone else/ There will be no flags to warn me, no!/ ‘Cause I just want to be myself,” the chorus preaches the beauty of being you.

“Everyday Life”

“Everyday Life” is the eighth studio album by Coldplay, released on the 22nd of November 2019 after four years. Their last stint was a world tour, a promotional event as well for their album “A Head Full Of Dreams” that lasted close to two years.

The album is 53-minutes long and divided into two phases called “Sunrise” and “Sunset”. They preceded the release of the album with the release of two singles “Orphans” and “Arabesque”. Boasting a track-list of 16-tracks, the album was a much-awaited one for the Coldplay fans. The poster for the album had all members of the band dressed up as a 1920s wedding band in a monochrome portrait.

Coldplay has a strong and loyal fanbase that is undoubtedly thrilled and happy with the release of this bonus track. What a way to treat the fans and end the dud year that 2020 has been! Listen to the entire album right away while we bring you more updates!
