Coldplay Set to Shatter Taylor Swift and Take That’s Wembley Stadium Record With Massive 10-Night Run

Coldplay is poised to break records previously held by Taylor Swift and Take That with their impressive 10-night run at Wembley Stadium next summer. The British band will take over the iconic London venue as part of their Music Of The Spheres tour. Initially scheduled for six nights on August 22, 23, 26, 27, 30, and 31, they later added September 3 and 4 to the lineup. On 26th September, Coldplay announced two additional dates on September 7 and 8 due to “phenomenal demand,” bringing their total to 10 nights in the English capital.

Swift and Take That previously held the record for the most nights performed at Wembley, each with a total of eight shows. Coldplay had also played six nights at the venue during the 2022 leg of their extensive world tour, doubling the previous record.

With eight nights at Wembley for her Eras Tour, Swift set a new record for the most nights played at the stadium by both a solo artist and an international act, surpassing the previous record set by Michael Jackson during his Bad Tour in 1988.

The upcoming shows will support Coldplay’s 10th studio album, Moon Music, which is scheduled for release on October 4.

According to the BBC, ticket prices for Coldplay’s upcoming shows start at £20 plus fees. The band has chosen not to adopt the dynamic ticket pricing model that recently drew controversy for Oasis, with unexpected price surges leaving many fans frustrated. Ticketmaster has confirmed that “all ticket prices for these concerts are fixed at the advertised rate.”

Next year, Oasis will perform seven shows at Wembley in August and September. Following the initial sale, a private ballot was announced for the additional two London dates. The band aims to take “a small step towards making amends” for the previous ticketing issues, including lengthy queues, by implementing “a special invitation-only ballot ticket sale strategy.”
