Colin Farrell Hilariously Declares ‘It’s Prosthetics Here on Out’ After Winning 2025 Golden Globes
After winning the Best Male Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series prize for his role in ‘The Penguin’, Colin Farrell celebrated a significant victory at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. Farrell’s performance as Oswald Cobblepot, the notorious Gotham mobster he initially played in Matt Reeves’ 2022 film ‘The Batman’, has earned him his third Golden Globe.
Farrell had to undergo a rigorous three-hour makeup procedure every day in order to change into the Penguin. He jokingly said on stage that he had no one to thank for his performance because he “did it all by himself.” But as he sipped black coffee and listened to 80s music during makeup sessions, he continued to praise makeup artist Michael Marino and his crew for their incredible work, characterizing the transformation process as a partnership of their genius. It was going to be all prosthetics from now on, Farrell said in a hilarious way.
Batman’s actions are followed by Cobblepot’s ascent to prominence in Gotham City’s underground in this limited eight-episode series. Additionally, Farrell thanked his co-stars, the show’s creative staff, and even Carolina from craft services, who helped him out by bringing coconut water every half hour during late-night filming in New York.

Strong candidates in the category were Andrew Scott (‘Ripley’), Cooper Koch (‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’), Ewan McGregor (‘A Gentleman in Moscow’), Richard Gadd (‘Baby Reindeer’), and Kevin Kline (‘Disclaimer’). In their projects, each nominee gave exceptional performances.
The category was full of exceptional talent, from Koch’s stirring portrayal of Erik Menendez in Ryan Murphy’s series to Gadd’s portrayal of himself in ‘Baby Reindeer’. Scott’s reimagining of Tom Ripley in ‘Ripley’ and McGregor’s portrayal of Alexander Rostov in ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ both demonstrated the competition’s strength. Although the roster was strong, Farrell deserved the accolades for his compelling and transforming performance.
