Dakota Johnson Admits to Preconceived Notions About Justin Timberlake Before ‘The Social Network’
Dakota Johnson recently opened up about her experience working with Justin Timberlake on her first professional film role during an interview.Reflecting on the movie scenes from her career, she shared her initial thoughts upon meeting the pop star-turned-actor on the set of ‘The Social Network’.
“Are you kidding? I was just 19, straddling Justin Timberlake and whipping him in the face with my hair,” Johnson recalled when asked if she had any preconceived notions about him. She admitted, “100% had preconceived notions, but he was lovely, kind, and really welcoming for someone who was just a stranger.”

The actress also reflected on the process of filming with renowned director David Fincher. She revealed that because of Fincher’s meticulous approach, they repeated the scene countless times. “I think because this was ‘The Social Network’ and David Fincher, we did this so many times that I’m like, I’m in it. I know it, I know all the lines. It’s still there,” she said.
In the film, Johnson portrayed a Stanford University student who wakes up with Timberlake’s character, Sean Parker, after a hookup. The scene marked the moment Parker was introduced to Facebook as a concept.

As the scene played during the interview, Johnson jokes, “We did it so many times that I feel like I remember this and it’s happening now. Maybe I was traumatised.” Her light-hearted reflection gave a glimpse into the intense, yet memorable, experience of filming with Timberlake and Fincher.
Despite her initial reservations, Johnson’s fond recollections highlight her positive experience working alongside Timberlake in the critically acclaimed film.
