Dakota Johnson Caught in Love Triangle with Chris Evans & Pedro Pascal in ‘Materialists’ Trailer

In their next movie Materialists, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, and Dakota Johnson are caught up in a complex romantic triangle.

Johnson plays Lucy, a prosperous matchmaker in New York City, in the romantic comedy, which was written and directed by Celine Song, who is best known for her Oscar-nominated movie ‘Past Lives’.  When her personal life suddenly takes centre stage, her professional life devolves into chaos.  She bumps into her ex-boyfriend John (played by Chris Evans) the same night she meets Randy (played by Pedro Pascal), who she believes could be her new love interest, at an event.

The tension between the two men as they compete for Lucy's affection is shown in the recently released teaser.  John asks if Lucy intends to wed Randy, who seems keen to start a family with her.  As feelings intensify, Lucy's romantic life starts to undermine her self-assurance in her work as a matchmaker.

According to the movie's summary, Lucy is a young, aspirational matchmaker in New York City who has to decide between a faulty romance from her past and an ideal new connection.

Dasha Nekrasova, Sawyer Spielberg, Zoe Winters, Louisa Jacobson, and Marin Ireland are also featured in ‘Materialists’.  After making a smooth transition from playwright to celebrated director with ‘Past Lives’ in 2022, this is Celine Song's second feature film.

Chris Evans will shortly play the lead in Ethan Coen's next movie, ‘Honey Don't!’ He most recently starred in ‘Red One’ and ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’.  Pedro Pascal will make his screen debut as Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic) in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, which will be released in July. He will also make a comeback in HBO's ‘The Last of Us' second season, which premieres in April.  In addition, Dakota Johnson is working on ‘Splitsville’, a comedy about marriage.

On 13th June, ‘Materialists’ will be released in theatres.
