Daniel Craig Opens Up About the Emotional Impact of James Bond’s Role on His Family

Daniel Craig has talked candidly about the difficulties of celebrity brought on by his James Bond character and how it affects his family life. Craig talked about his time as ‘007’ during a live event at the BFI in London. He acknowledged how much he adored the role but also the emotional toll it took, especially on his family.

After making his film debut as James Bond in ‘Casino Royale’ (2006), Craig starred in four additional movies: ‘Spectre’ (2015), ‘Skyfall’ (2012), ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008), and ‘No Time to Die’ (2021). At times, the role’s fame and attention were too much to handle, so he looked at how it affected his personal life. He acknowledged that in order to deal with the demands of stardom, there were times when he felt the need to withdraw from public life.

Craig has been married to actress Rachel Weisz since 2011, and the two of them have a daughter named Grace, who is six years old. Ella, his adult daughter from his former marriage to Fiona Loudon, is also his.

Weisz, who has a son named Henry from her marriage to director Darren Aronofsky, has been candid about preserving their family’s privacy. She stressed her desire to maintain a low profile and said that fame is not something that means much to her.

In previous interviews, Craig has acknowledged the difficulties and temptations of celebrity and characterized it as a two-edged sword. Weisz added that although fans’ recognition of her husband as Bond has grown commonplace, their family doesn’t find it burdensome or unduly challenging to deal with.

Currently showing in theatres is Craig’s most recent endeavour, ‘Queer’, for which he has been nominated for a Golden Globe.
