Daniel Craig Unfazed About Next James Bond Casting Choice
While Hollywood insiders and James Bond fans are excitedly guessing who will be the next 007, Daniel Craig appears unconcerned with mystery. Craig, who portrayed the legendary spy from 2006 to 2021, left the position without harbouring any unanswered questions regarding his successor.
Craig, 56, was asked who he would want to see play Bond in an interview with Variety with his queer co-star Drew Starkey. He only shook his head and laughed, saying, “I don’t care.” Craig joked, “I’m gonna get it wrong,” when asked how many Bond movies he has starred in. Starkey then joked, “too many,” which made them both laugh. Craig considered his options and decided on five.

Four additional Bond movies that Craig had initially planned are included in his legacy: ‘Casino Royale’ (2006), ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008), ‘Skyfall’ (2012), ‘Spectre’ (2015), and ‘No Time to Die’ (2021). In a 2022 interview with The Times, he reflected on the surprising trip, revealing that he had originally thought he would only create one Bond movie. However, he consented to a few more after ‘Casino Royale’ became popular, even humorously negotiating the character’s dramatic demise with producer Barbara Broccoli.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson of ‘The Fall Guy’, Jacob Elordi of ‘Saltburn’, and Callum Turner of ‘The Boys in the Boat’ have all been mentioned as possible replacements for Craig since his departure. The 34-year-old Turner even made a joke about his mother perhaps being the source of the accusations. “It’s all her putting the money on when my odds get higher,” he told PEOPLE.
Craig’s Bond era came to an end with ‘No Time to Die’, but the new Bond has not yet been announced.
