Dave Grohl's Representatives Deny Viral Claims of a “Love Child”

A viral Instagram post falsely claimed that Dave Grohl fathered a “love child” named Roxie Junie Grohl with another woman. This misinformation spread shortly after Foo Fighters frontman Grohl disclosed that he recently became a father to a baby girl outside his marriage. Grohl has since publicly apologized and pledged to work on rebuilding trust with his wife, Jordyn Blum, with whom he has three daughters: Violet, Harper, and Ophelia. In his announcement, Grohl committed to being a “loving and supportive parent” to his new child. The false post included a detailed caption and a photo of a woman holding a newborn’s hand.

“My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being your mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life,” the caption began.

Later in the post, the creator mentioned that when they looked at their child, they could see a tiny, beautiful reflection of Grohl’s face.

“From the shape of your eyes to the way your little nose crinkles when you smile, you are truly a Grohl through and through,” they alleged.

The post continued: “It’s amazing how much of him is already shining in you. Your dad is so proud that you carry on his family’s spirit, and I can already tell you have that same strength and kindness in you.”

A representative for Grohl has confirmed that the post is false. Grohl has not yet addressed the identity of the mother of his fourth child or the child itself.

Violet and Harper have recently deactivated their Instagram accounts. Violet, who gained attention for touring with Foo Fighters alongside her father, is also featured on the band's 2023 track ‘Show Me How’ from their album ‘But Here We Are’. This emotional album was created following the deaths of Grohl’s mother, Virginia, and late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

In January 2021, he praised Violet as an incredibly talented musician who can pick up an instrument and master it within a week. He added that being her drummer is one of his life dreams.

In other Foo Fighters news, an Irish hitchhiker, believed to have played a key role in the band's formation in the mid-1990s, has recently been identified.

The band is also scheduled to perform at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on 29th September.
