David Tucker Overcomes Addiction in New Song 'Forgetting Her'

David Tucker’s journey to overcoming addiction and personal tragedy is both powerful and inspiring. The pop-country artist endured immense hardship, including the loss of his younger brother at a pivotal time in his life. He also faced an undiagnosed autoimmune disease, HLA-B27, which left him misunderstood and in pain.

To add to his struggles, a near-fatal car accident occurred shortly after he moved to Nashville to chase his country music dreams, leading him into a battle with addiction. “I lost pretty much everyone in my life, my career was put off, everything was put on hold,” Tucker shares. “I was in a very dark and lonely place.”

Despite the darkness that surrounded him, Tucker took control of his life and sought out intense therapy and self-improvement. Through his hard work, he managed to overcome the addiction that almost cost him everything.

“I went through therapy for several years and did a lot of training to move forward,” he explains. “There’s always been this fire inside me. It’s never given me the option to quit.”

Now in a much stronger place, Tucker is ready to share his music with the world. He is set to release his debut EP soon, and his latest single, ‘Forgetting Her’, showcases his emotional depth and vocal prowess. “We wrote 'Forgetting Her' in about 30 or 40 minutes,” Tucker recalls. The track marks a turning point for him, reshaping his songwriting process and vocal style.

As Tucker reflects on his battles with addiction, he recalls the pain that drove him toward substance abuse. “The only thing I wanted was to be out of pain,” he admits. His addiction to pain pills worsened after the accident, but Tucker’s determination to heal has led him to a new chapter.
