Deadmau5 Disclosed That Wearing His Mouse Helmet Gave Him an Injury

Deadmau5 humorously said that the helmet, referred to as Mau5head, which he started wearing in 2008, caused him a spinal injury. He posted an x-ray of his spine on Instagram and captioned the photo, “Wear a mouse head’ they said. ‘It’ll be fun!’ They said.”

The DJ and producer, who’s real name is Joel Zimmerman, later cleared the air saying, “My neck is messed up from probably sleeping like an idiot, or slouching behind a computer. I doubt wearing a mouse head has much to do with it. I just posted a lolsy quote with it. My neck is fine ish, I just need to straighten my s**t up. it’s all good. Just sore.”

Deadmau5 is one of the highest paid electronic music producers in the world. He has 6 Grammy nominations for his work.  In 2007, he founded his own record label, Mau5trap.
