Deadmau5 Drops Uplifting New Track Through Mobile Tank Game
Renowned electronic artist Deadmau5 has teamed up with the mobile game World of Tanks Blitz to debut his latest track, Familiars. While the song will be available on digital streaming platforms starting November 29, the music video is already live. The video features Deadmau5 donning his iconic mau5head and transforming into a digital avatar, navigating a customized tank through a vibrant cityscape.
World of Tanks Blitz is a free-to-play action shooter where players join seven-member teams to battle opponents in armoured tanks. As part of their collaboration, the game is hosting a special event titled Deadmau5 In The House, with a pre-party on December 2 and the full event running from December 3 to December 26.
During the event, players can earn exclusive in-game rewards, including the “mau5tank,” a Deadmau5-themed vehicle equipped with lasers, speakers, and lights. The mau5tank’s design draws inspiration from the artist’s Nyanborghini Purracan, his Lamborghini Hurricane adorned with Nyan Cat decals. Additional rewards include Deadmau5-inspired quests, three collectible mau5head silhouette masks, and more. To complement the digital offerings, a collaboration-themed merchandise line will also launch on November 29.
Thaine Lyman, General Manager of World of Tanks Blitz, described the partnership as an extension of the game’s bold and rebellious spirit. He added that the collaboration introduces a fresh and exciting twist to the holiday season.

Familiars follows Deadmau5’s recent releases, including his single Jaded and the Some EP. Earlier this year, the artist criticized Spotify’s CEO over comments about the low cost of creating music. Deadmau5 argued that his music was the result of over 25 years of effort and noted that a significant portion of his revenue supported Spotify’s platform.
In related news, a recent Microsoft PC update has reportedly caused several major games to become unplayable.
