‘Deadpool 3’ Confirmed With Wolverine’s Return

The superhero fandom is in for a treat, as Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the highly anticipated film, ‘Deadpool 3.’ Director Shawn Levy has provided some intriguing details about Wolverine’s return and his significance in the upcoming film.

Firstly, the question of how Jackman’s Wolverine could return to the role after the dramatic conclusion in ‘Logan’ has been on everyone’s minds. As fans of the character know, Logan had a fitting and emotional farewell in that film. However, it seems that in the world of the MCU, it’s never truly the end for a character until Marvel Studios decides otherwise.

Shawn Levy, the director of ‘Deadpool 3,’ shed light on the importance of Wolverine and his connection to the Logan movie. Levy emphasized that the team behind ‘Deadpool 3’ has immense reverence for James Mangold’s ‘Logan’ and is committed to respecting its legacy. He stated that “Logan is canon” and made it clear that the events of that film will play a significant role in the story of ‘Deadpool 3.’

Levy’s statements reflect the deep admiration that fans and creators alike hold for ‘Logan.’ He eagerly anticipates discussing the film alongside Ryan Reynolds during promotional interviews for the upcoming movie. 

Wolverine’s journey in the X-Men franchise began with ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ and he quickly became a fan favourite. However, it was Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of Deadpool that truly rejuvenated the character in the eyes of fans. The success of the first ‘Deadpool’ movie in 2016 paved the way for further installments and the eventual crossover with Wolverine.

The release date for ‘Deadpool 3’ has undergone some changes, initially scheduled for 6th September 2024, before being pushed back to 8th November 2024. The anticipation surrounding this film is only growing, especially with the revelation of Hugh Jackman donning Wolverine’s iconic suit.

The momentous occasion of Jackman wearing the yellow and blue X-Men costume was a significant revelation for fans. Director Shawn Levy shared Hugh Jackman’s enthusiastic reaction to this development. When Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, proposed the idea to Jackman, the actor’s response was a resounding “‘F**k yeah!’”

‘Deadpool 3’ boasts a stacked cast, including Wolverine, Deadpool, Elektra, and others. This ensemble promises an exciting addition to the MCU, with numerous possibilities for future interactions with established heroes.
