While the movie didn’t reveal the fate of characters like Blade (Wesley Snipes), Gambit, Elektra (Jennifer Garner), and Laura (Dafne Keen) after the battle with Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), a recently released video clip shared by Ryan Reynolds on Instagram confirmed Gambit’s survival. The clip shows Channing Tatum’s Gambit walking away unscathed, hinting at his potential return in future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects.
Reynolds captioned the clip, “whispers Marvel Sparkle Circle,” referencing Doctor Strange’s magical portals, which could suggest that Gambit escaped through one or possibly ventured into another universe like Earth 616. Reynolds further hinted that a version of this sequence is visible on one of the monitors in the deep background of the Time Variance Authority, teasing more possibilities for Gambit’s future.
The post-credits scene in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ also hints at this event, leaving fans wondering if Tatum will finally get his standalone Gambit movie now that his character survived the encounter with Cassandra Nova. Tatum has long expressed his eagerness to fully embody Gambit, and even for this cameo, he put in extensive training for the action sequences, sharing glimpses of his preparation on Instagram.
Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ showcased various Deadpool and Wolverine variants, along with other Marvel characters. The film continues to captivate audiences with surprise updates on alternate endings, additional cameos, and concept art that could have altered the storyline, keeping fans eagerly awaiting what’s next.
