Demi Lovato Gets Emotional at the Grammys
Demi Lovato took the Grammy stage for the first time in 2 years, and what an emotional comeback it has been.
The pop powerhouse performed her unheard track – “Anyone” for the first time for a live audience, leaving everyone, including Demi in tears. The track details the singer’s journey with her addiction issues, with Demi taking centre stage asking for help. She sings “Anyone, is there anyone?/Lord send me anyone// I need someone.”
The singer teased the performance in an up close and personal conversation with interviewer Zane Lowe, talking for the first time about her overdose and the struggles that led her to her relapse. Demi overdosed last year and was admitted into a treatment centre, and has spent the months following, completely sober.
The pop star completed recording “Anyone” just days before her overdose in 2018. Contrary to her usually perfect vocal runs and arrangements, this track features a more imperfect, unprepared Demi – a voice we haven’t heard in a while.
The singer took the Grammy stage, dawning a white gown; the set reflected the theme of the song – simple and vulnerable. There has been no official news of the release of the track on streaming services, yet. Watch her heart-wrenching performance below
