‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2019 film ‘Joker’, which became a cultural sensation, breaking records as the first R-rated movie to earn over $1 billion globally and earning Joaquin Phoenix an Academy Award for his role. The original film delved into Arthur Fleck's descent into madness, offering a darkly unique origin story for one of Batman's most notorious villains.

In the sequel, director Todd Phillips returns to expand Fleck's story, this time incorporating a musical element to explore the character's disturbed psyche even further.

Collider has exclusively revealed a behind-the-scenes featurette that provides a glimpse into the making of the film. The clip showcases how music influences Arthur Fleck’s evolution, featuring interviews with Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, and Todd Phillips. Gaga's role introduces a fresh layer to the narrative, while Phillips sheds light on the film’s creative vision.

The 2019 film follows Arthur Fleck, a troubled man in Gotham City who works as a clown and aspires to be a stand-up comedian. He endures societal neglect and abuse while caring for his sick mother. His mental health deteriorates further due to inadequate social support, leading to uncontrollable fits of laughter.

As Arthur faces a series of humiliations and violent incidents, he spirals into madness, culminating in his transformation into the Joker. This shift becomes evident after he commits a series of violent acts, including the murder of three men on a subway, and ultimately murders a talk show host during a live broadcast.

The film concludes with Arthur's full embrace of the Joker persona, inciting a riot in Gotham and landing in Arkham Asylum. ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ picks up shortly after these events, featuring Lady Gaga’s character, Lee, who crosses paths with Arthur. Together, they embark on a twisted journey into shared madness. The sequel blends elements of courtroom drama, musical numbers, and chaos.
