DJ Zedd tweets – China bans him

Born Anton Zaslavski, the Russian – German DJ Zedd, has been permanently banned from China for liking a post from the ‘South Park’ Twitter account.

He made the announcement via Twitter, saying – “I just got permanently banned from China because I liked a @SouthPark tweet,”. The DJs reps later confirmed the news about Zedd being notified of his ban from the country. His travel and music shows have been banned as the government forced the promoters to cancel his shows. His follow up post on Instagram stated “…this is NOT a joke. The government informed our promoters that if they don’t cancel my scheduled shows in China, they would pull their cultural permits.”

Zedd liked a South Park post of their 300th episode which mocked the Chinese government and Chinese-American businesses. South Park has been banned from airing in China, has been scrubbed of the Chinese internet and can be no longer streamed.

Seems like Zedd is the new addition to the long list of things being banned in country.
