Drake Crowned as The Most Streamed Rapper on Spotify

RapCaviar, a well-known rap playlist on Spotify, unveiled the list of the 50 most streamed rappers on the streaming service, joining the hip-hop lists that are still being released for the HipHop50 anniversary.

Fallen SoundCloud superstars XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD are ranked No. 5 and No. 4, respectively. Kanye West, Eminem and Drake are in the top three, with the 6 God taking the top spot for rap streamers on Spotify. With astonishing 70.3 million monthly listeners on the site, Drizzy is in first place, boosted by his two billion-plus streams of the singles ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘One Dance.’

According to reports, Drake surpassed 75 billion Spotify streams collectively last February, making him the first artist to do so. As word of this accomplishment spread, he argued that musicians should be paid bonuses for reaching streaming milestones just like athletes. He stated earlier this year in an Instagram Story that “we should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive. So feel free to send me a LeBron sized cheque[,] I have enough dinner plates.”

Drake is getting ready for his next summer tour after achieving his 12th Billboard 200 No. 1 record last year with ‘Her Loss’, his collaboration with 21 Savage. His ‘It’s All a Blur’ Tour will get started this month in Memphis, Tennessee. He will travel with 21 Savage on the lengthy, multi-city tour through October.
