Drew Barrymore Opens Up About Being Ghosted After First Date 

Recently, Drew Barrymore talked about how she was dumped after a first date.  She described how she went to supper with a man who had requested her number on an episode of ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ featuring Ross Mathews and Valerie Bertinelli.  She then sent him a text, and after exchanging a few texts, his final reply was a long "Haaaaa."  He hasn't responded since.

 She said that she didn't understand why individuals act in this manner because she wouldn't engage in ghosting herself.  Drew noted that many people, including those who are polite and considerate, experience this.  Drew playfully retorted that she didn't want to decipher esoteric messages in dating when Mathews quipped that several "A's" in laughter would indicate interest.

Seeing such interactions as time-savers and teaching opportunities, she urged the audience to avoid wasting time on people who don't follow through.  Drew also discussed the tendency to think negatively about oneself under such circumstances, but he underlined the value of treating oneself with care.

She believes that life has taught her to be kinder and more understanding of herself at the age of fifty.  Following her divorce from ex-husband Will Kopelman, with whom she co-parents their daughters, Olive and Frankie, Drew has been open about her dating experiences and family life.  She recently talked about the difficulties of raising a child without a traditional family model, admitting that it was hard for her to accept that her family dynamic wasn't what she had planned for.  Drew's message is unwavering in the face of these obstacles: no one should accept less in relationships or in life, and everyone deserves greatness.
