Dua Lipa and DaBaby just made their explosive landing with the remixed version of ‘Levitating’. This marks the second time this buzzing tune was treated to a remix, the first being with some household names: Missy Elliott and Madonna. A day after Dua and DaBaby arrived with their new remix, they also dropped the visualizer for the track, leaving fans of both acts in an absolute meltdown.
Interestingly, this version of ‘Levitating’ has a stronger retro flavour to it. It arrives with a slower tempo and the entire second verse delivered by DaBaby. In fact, Dua herself dabbles in a bit of rap, towards the climax of the song, making it stand out a lot more than the original cut. DaBaby for one, gives the song an extra push with his groovy verse as he croons,
They always leaving you but you run together
Weight of the world on my shoulders, I kept my head up
Now baby stand up, ’cause girl you…
Now, coming to the visualizer for the track. We see both stars dip their feet into the disco era. From dancing on roller skates, to an elevator with a light-up floor – Dua and DaBaby immerse you into a whole new era. As their little dance party continues, the elevator is sucked up to outer space. And much like the lyrics suggest, we see both stars dancing among celestial bodies, bang in the middle of the Milky Way.
With DaBaby’s monumental rise to fame, there’s nowhere left to go but up. In fact, the rapper is also leading the charge for the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards. So, it looks like nothing can slow him down.
